I bought this item for my 1979 Camaro SBC for Street/Strip application. Water pump weighs 4 LBS less than factory, comes with its own cork gaskets. NO modifications were needed. Water pump does NOT come with a stud kit.

Not a direct fit for 68 Chevelle

Not a direct fit for 68 Chevelle with a/c and power steering. Had to grind down pump and brackets to fit properly.

Not direct fit, despite system saying so, threads ?

This was bought for a 4.3L in an S10. There was a mounting boss that hit the power steering bracket/housing, had to cut that off, the other side was too wide and had to be ground down to miss the AC bracket. Then the mounting holes didn't match my pulley (two different patterns, both wrong), then the threads. Not metric and not SAE. Ended up having to tap out to SAE (5/16) for studs. Then..., it appears the rotation is opposite of the 4.3L. So it doesn't actually pump any water. The old (stock) pump worked fine, just was leaking out the front seal weep hole. Truck now overheats with this pump. Can't return it with the mods I had to do to get it to physically fit. $150 in the trash.
