A total rip-off! Make sure you return it for a refund!
Product had almost no adhesive and wouldn't stick. Advance was out of the Permatex brand which I ordered online so they gave me this garbage. The mangled mess is going back for a refund. I refuse to be ripped off!

Sometimes seals, sometimes doesn't
It seems like there's a certain level of heat or air that this tape can't tolerate. I tried using it on an uppipe in my Subaru that had blown open a hole. I peeled off both the paper and the outer plastic on both sides, and used steel zip ties to hold it in place. After a week or two, reinspected it, and the tape had basically disintegrated on the front, but stuck on the back. Weird. I ended up getting some QuikSteel which worked 100x better. I think this tape could work in the right conditions, but appears to be very limited.
It works under clamp
This muffler tape works ok if it is secured with clamp. It does not stick to itself very well. What is even worse is it looses stickiness on the shelf. I bought 2 packs and one of them was not sticky at all, while the other pack was fairly sticky. It does become sticky with some heat, but becomes hard to handle when heated. Tape does not stretch much and will be hard to seal over the bend. I used a wide stainless steel band from no hub band (used for plumbing) to secure the tape over the hole and using the tape as gasket. The tape alone probably won't hold exhaust pressure.

Sticky, except when it doesnt stick
Verified Buyer -
Very sticky, once you get the clear plastic tape off both sides. Leaves residue on fingers, nearly impossible to work with gloves on. It is much easier to apply if the section of exhaust/muffler is removed and fully accessible. Sometimes doesn't adhere very well, seems to get better after the engine has run. Keep it tight and it should bond decently. Definitely sealed the hole though; exhaust sounds so much quieter now.
Worst stuff never
Doesn't even stick to the muffler
