Dont forget to submerge lifters in clean motor oil for 24 hours prior to install. You can also purge additional air by pumping them with a brass or wooden dowel while submerged. this will get most of the air out and allow lifters to pump up and function correctly. Triple check your specs. there are several different manifold gaskets, heads, and valve trains used on the GM 3.1 from 1995 - 1999. make sure you get the right gasket and use the correct valve adjustment procedure for your valve train. If not sure talk to a local machinist or tech.

Lifters for my Buick.
I was doing the intake on a 1999 Buick Century and it had a ticking noise on start up ever since I owned it. Doing the lifters didn't add any time to the intake job, so I replaced them. They are working fine so far.
