Good F-150 4.2L OEM Replacement
I bought this FM69L TC before taking my old one out of my 2001 F-150 4.2L. I've done extensive research to find the correct TC so I purchased this one as every website I looked at said the Code 71A was factory. After pulling the tranny the old TC had diagonal ribs meaning it was a higher stall TC in a stock 4.2L 4R70W tranny. Maybe it was changed before. Anyways the straight ribbed 71A works perfect and shifts smooth. The cost beats anyone and I'm happy it has a drain plug on it so you can do your own flushes. If you have the 4.2L/4R70W F150 this is the one you want unless you built your motor up. Would buy again! Pour 1 qt of Mercon V inside the TC prior to installing. Don't forget the 3rd click to seat the TC inside the pump. Replace your rear main and pump seal while you have it apart. From dry it took 13.5 qts Mercon V and I blew my cooler lines out and used a rebuilt tranny. The book says 13.9 qts. Maybe the .4 qts was presoaking the friction discs.

I finally got a good one
I was really happy to get one so quick , then I felt dread , as I was installing the converter and chunks could be heard bouncing around inside . Clearly I needed to take it back ,I was not happy . I did get a new one a day later ( which was really nice ) the replacement seemed to be more like what it should be , it worked fine so far, only time can tell .
