Essential for rear disc brakes

I used it for the rear disc brakes on an Audi A4. THe corrector adapter for this model was included. It made the job easy. Rear brake pistons have to be screwed instead of pushed in .I should have borrowed this kit and used another tool in the kit on the front brakes instead of contorting a c-clamp to press those pistons.

Missing pieces

Not happy with this set. The one I got was missing 7mm Allen wrench, which should have been there. Also, there was a piece of the piston compression tool was missing. And then, the set didn't have the correct piston compression fitting for the rear brakes; there's several sizes of fitting, but not correct for my Volvo. If you have a Ford Focus or Mazda 3 you may have the same rear caliper, so this set won't work for your car. I worked around the problem by using vise grips to turn the piston as I compressed it with the tool in the kit. Would I rent this kit again? I guess so, but first I'd make sure it had the 7mm Allen. My other cars don't have the parking brake built into the caliper, so don't need that special tool. All I would need for them would be the missing 7mm and the compression tool.

This is the brake kit you rent from Advance Auto Parts. It was pretty beat up but I thought it looked usable. I disassembled the brakes and needed to compress the caliper using the screw-in caliper tool. Well that was missing a piece and I had to struggle with it to get the job done. I mentioned it to the manager when I returned it and he didn't seem interested. Inspect the kit in detail BEFORE you borrow it!
