works but thought it would be thicker

Perfect
Pig soaks are simply the best answer to messy chemical spills in a garage or shop. These reasonably sized mats come on a roll, like oversized paper towel with perforations so you can tear off as much as you will need for the job. You can place them on any surface, while flat surfaces work best. The mats are thin but deceptive in their holding capacity. The mats will soak up spills that have already happened or catch leaks or drips with ease. With some pressure applied, it will even lift an old oil stain. It's MUCH cleaner than cat litter and far more effective at containing spills on floors. When left for a period of time, you can lift them off the floor with no dripping and dispose of them cleanly. I like to keep a thin metal pan lined with these under a leaky transmission, radiator or oil pan. I also like to use these mats when cleaning small rusty parts on carburetors or rusty tools. I just put one or two on my work surface and then I can place the parts I'm working on, on one of the mats, and douse them with oil or spray cleaner and scrub away. The mats are not impervious to, but are quit resistant to scrubbing and abrasion making them perfect for any work I am doing. If I am working on a snow blower, lawn mower, motorcycle, etc... - you name it, Pig mats will be nearby and underneath all of my work. I should also mention that I am able to use these mats quite a few times before tossing them out. Depending on the work I am doing. When part cleaning, for example, I may use the same mat for a month before the mat can no longer do the job. I do not know of any other product that holds up like these. I work in an engine plant and we use these professionally (where I discovered their greatness about 10 years ago), because they are simply the best. I should mention, although they will work for water, their main purpose is for containing viscous or semi-viscous chemicals and I find that to be their best application (spray oil WD, oil, coolants, solvents, etc...) Try them out and you will agree, thumbs up.

Must Have Mat

This is a very large roll that has lots of capacity. I do quite a few oil changes on all my cars. My kids usually trash my floor when changing the oil. When a couple of sheets of this material are put down, it really does a great job of protecting the floor.
