OE for 1997 Taurus
After doing a lot of research I was able to determine that the NGK (labeled NTK on the box) 02 sensor was actually Ford OEM on the Taurus. I was getting a P0420 and P0430, but only replaced on bank 2 (radiator bank). That cleared the P0430, so I'll be getting the another to clear the P0420 tomorrow. Suggest you replace upstream 02 sensors before purchasing a replacement catalytic for these codes.

Did not work
I bought this a few weeks ago for Ford Taurus, 2001 SES, DOHC for replacement of B1S2 Downstream Oxygen Sensor, and paid to replace it yesterday, but the engine check light did not go. When I used the OBDII to remove the light, it came back and the codes are still there. The mechanic placed it from underneath the car as it is meant to be down stream, cat-back location.I am now confused as what can be done to remove the engine light. The car has had no problems and the efficiency we are getting is same as before 20-22 miles/gallon in some city and about 18 miles daily highway mixed.
