Fluid Film is a lanolin based, solvent free, rust and corrosion inhibitor as well as a penetrating lubricant. Fluid Film provides excellent protection for metal components. The formula is 100% solvent free and will not get gummy or tacky. Fluid Film works as a release agent on the underside of Lawnmower decks making clean up much easier. It is nonconductive and will prevent corrosion on battery terminals.In harsh climates or conditions, Fluid Film will not readily freeze and retains a slick consistency, keeping chains and moving parts from binding or building up dirt and debris. Fluid Film is ideal for frame and chassis undercoating to protect from salts and brines on vehicles and trailers. With a high flashpoint and exceptional water displacement, Fluid Film is the perfect protectant for endless applications. Fluid Film also brings luster back to sunbaked coatings and helps prevent dirt and mud from caking on surfaces.

I'm a Fleet Tech and have been using Fluid Film for at least 5 years. On the 50 or so trucks /cars I maintain. I have to say I'm beyond impressed. All you need is a thin film. If it looks wet it all set! no need to waste it making it look "thicker" it will likely drip off. The road dust will adhere to it turning it black. High washout places like wheel wells will need to be reapplied more often if it concerns you. When using it to cover over fuel filter threaded nuts (GM) it easily washes off for service with brake cleaner. I see my trucks quarterly and touchup when its needed but for the most part once a year on the state inspection would do it.Some newer vehicles have coated lines but don't forget to spray the nut on the ends of the lines,"t" connections,flex line end /connections. Obviously be careful not to get any one the brakes/rotors.

This product can be used on pretty much everything. It will not swell or ruin your rubber seals! It can be used on your battery terminals and anything electronic / electric as well. The best part is that it doesn't drip and it really does stop rust from spreading!

Odor at the beginning, but does fade
I am trying it on an old car underneath to see if I can slow down the rust. I have used rustoleum in the past, but it does not seem to work. There is an odor for a while, but it fades after a few hours. Be careful also-the residue that drops on the garage floor is easy to slip on. Be sure to clean it up carefully.
