Flowtech High-Performance Mandrel-Bent Headers with Leakproof O-Ring Seals

I changed the motor in my 1977 Grumman-Olsen Curbmaster Jr. step-van. (like an ice-cream truck) It has a 1/2 ton chevy chassis. It came with a Chevolet 292 cubic inch 6-cylinder motor that had a cracked block from being overheated. I pulled out the six, and modified a right motor mount as the 292 had staggered mounts. I had a good low mileage chevy 350 that I had built for a 1979 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup previously. I installed it in my driveway, having to insert it thru the passenger door opening, as the hood is only about a foot and a half long.I had previously changed the turbo 350 transmission to a 700-R-4 overdrive trans which helped the problem with overhating somewhat. But a freeze-plug that was extremely difficult to get to prompted me to go ahead and pull the motor out, and put in the v-8. I needed exhaust, and had previously had a set of flowtech headers, but the passenger side was lost, so I checked out stock exhaust at other outlets, and salvage yards, but the prices were too high, so I went online looking for headers, and found them at Advance Auto Parts. I got a discount coupon code online, and picked them up about an hour later at my local Advance Auto Parts Store, brought them home, and they went right into place. I finished hooking up all the lines, wires, ect. and the little truck runs great, and sounds like a hot rod.

Bought these headers locally even though I had heard some mixed reviews about them. Had isses installing them but finally got them on. After hooking everything up I heard a ticking sound. I replaced the gaskets four times assuming it was the flange not sealing. I then found that it was a faulty weld at the collector. I returned them for another set only to have the same problem. Dont skimp on headers, buy a quality set.

Ordered these headers after having problems getting OE exhaust manifolds. Spent a fortune on nuts,bolts,gaskets etc. only to find out the exhaust dumped out right on the motor mount and would be extremely difficult to install. I returned them and ordered the Flowtec headers. I was very pleased to see that the kit included everything you need to get these installed, event the collectors and gaskets! Quality was good , however there was a bit of surface rust on the pipes. (Cheap paint..) however I repainted them before installation. Everything went together better than I anticipated, the hardware was decent and the exhaust dumped out where it should with plenty of clearance. I highly recommend this product as a direct replacement for factory manifolds. Advanced shipped the item in a timely manner and I even got a special discount that saved me an addition $15. Looked like a decent product for the money. Advance obviously sent me someone else's returns and didn't check to make sure all the hardware was still in the box. Way to go Advance!
