Aluminum Head Repair
Verified Buyer -
I used this kit to repair the rocker arm bolt threads in an aluminum head. The drill bit needed is not provided, but I had one already. The handle does NOT work in tight areas, but I had another handle already. The handle did work to install the coil. I liked the adjustable stop.

For a big problem, this is a good affordable solution
Had a outboard engine with a snapped off bolt due to corrosion. Tried soaking, Ez Out, heat, everything but no go. Drilled out bolt and used the included tap which seems to be high quality. The insertion tool is metal and has a slot for holding the tap as well. BE SURE to put the thread insert on the tool correctly by having the tang at the BOTTOM of the threaded hole and not the top. The instructions say nothing about this and it wont go the other way. I messed up two inserts before I figured this out. After that, insert is installed and engine repaired.

I had broken two bolts while trying to change my sway bar bushings and after drilling out the bolts, this kit was the quick fix I needed to get my brackets back on the frame and the sway bar secured. This was the first time I ever drilled out a broken bolt and the kit had everything I needed to make it right. Just go slow and steady.

Used to repair a stripped hole in aluminium BMW engine. The kit contains everything you need to repair 12 holes, except for drill bit. The instructions are pretty straight forward. I had no issues drilling, tapping or inserting the repair thread. The tool provided to spin the tap is plastic, so it will not take alot of abuse. Since space was limited, I had to use a small crescent wrench, which worked just as well. Use common sense, clean out the tap and lubricate it while creating new threads. I used some blue locktite to secure the thread repair. There might be better products out there, but this one got me out of a bad situation with ease.
