Junk right out of the box!!! Went with NEW what a mistake!!!

I am fully disgusted, first off with the fact this was a new part and not a rebuilt, leaked from both upper and lower port holes which indicates someone either forgot to install or improperly installed the bearing/race seals. This part was for a 1998 ford ranger 3.0 ... The man hours involved in doing this job not once but twice is beyond words. So besides the lost 2 full days yes 2 full days of work (removing everything to get to this pump) I am also out all of the materials that advance auto parts did not want to replace or rather reimburse. So I lost 3 gallons of antifreeze, which it spit out the holes hoping the seals would bed themselves in after running it for an hour or more, I lost out on two tubes of water neck and water pump gasket sealer, I lost out on a bottle of gasket remover, a can of carb cleaner to eat into the new sealant because that's all that will eat at fresh adhesive, had to remove thermostat to completely flush out system, had to buy a new thermostat gasket and I think that about covers it. Anyone can sit behind a desk or up in corporate and say oh well it has a lifetime warranty... Yeah, well aftert the extra $50 I out out, after the extra 6 man hours to remove the junk new one, bring it to the store, exchange for a new one, put out money for parts and items they refused to replace which I had used stock from my own shelf supply which mind you all came from them at one point or another and with total lack or unsurity that the next one I put in would be bad as well... Well fortunately it wasn't! Who makes up for my $300 loss in labor, who makes up for my $50 in materials I had to put out because they weren't just purchased at time of water pump? Who? ME!!! No apology, no here let us give you the antifreeze and gaskets and adhesive and gasket remover and blades ex etc etc. nothing... Just a 25 minute wait to exchange the parts and my fussing got me nowhere! Fully disgusted! This isn't like an easy job and I lost hundreds! Send me a gift card!

Quality appears good

A direct replacement fit/function for OEM part. Seems like the quality will be better than a rebuilt unit.

Buy at your own risk
I purchased this pump 3 months ago (May 24th, 2015) and it has already gone bad, coolent is coming out of the weep hole. When I replaced this pump, I replaced the Timing cover seal, Radiator, both hoses, T-Stat, Rad Cap, and I also did a coolent flush. All of these parts were bought through AA and I have not seen any issue with them. But I would not recomend this WP, also I do not know if this WP was a true AA part or a Carquest part, since AA recently bought out Carquest. So the Carquest part may be great but I am not going to find out. I am purchasing an OEM replacment so I dont have to deal with this in the next couple months when winter hits.
