Don't Always Blame The Product
I recently ordered 2 National Hub Assemblies because the cheaper NTP brand that I had installed just over a year ago went bad. Not only was there a lot of slop in the bearings, but also my ABS system was engaging every time the vehicle just about came to a stop. This time I had my Brother In-Law who is a certified mechanic help me put the National hubs on. He started by removing everything needed to the point of installing the new hubs. He then told me that if I had followed the proper procedure for torquing the axle nut, I would not be replacing them now. He estimated that I probably over torqued the 2 nuts by about 60 or 70 pounds. When he asked if I used a torque wrench, I told him I did not because I thought there was a positive stop that would not allow the bearings to be compressed too much. He told me that I killed the hubs, and I was lucky that they lasted as long as they had. He also stated that even the cheaper hub assemblies have to conform to MVSS (motor vehicle safety standards). He said while it is possible to get a bad Hub from any manufacturer, the ones that customers complain have not lasted very long, and they installed them on their own, were not installed properly (most of the time not torqued by a calibrated wrench). So long NTP hubs, please forgive me for sending you much too soon to that bone yard in the sky.

How do you rate a wheel bearing/hub assembly a week after you bought it? The proof is whether it lasts or not. My last replacements lasted 25 months. Hope these last longer. Ordering and installing was easy, other than that I can't say at this point but I am reviewing this part to get Advance Auto off my back.

easy to install

After finding out it was going to cost me $450 to have this wheel hub assembly replaced, I decided to find out what was involved in doing the work myself. I have a 2005 Isuzu Ascender and have gotten pretty good at making minor repairs as this vehicle constantly has something wrong with it. (Thats another story though). After reading about what was involved in changing it, I bought this unit and was quite pleased with the quality of the product and at how easy it was to replace. The whole process took about an hour from start to finish and everything works as advertised. So to anybody who need to replace one, has basic mechanical skills, and wishes to bypass the high priced mechanic I would recommend changing this one out yourself. It really is pretty simple. BTW I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I havent had it installed long enough to guarantee its longevity.

Better than Original Equipment!
Verified Buyer -
Needed two hubs to rebuild the front end of my 2002 Bravada. After searching once again Advance had the best price and the hubs were in stock at my local store. Hubs meet or beet OE quality, were a snap to install and are performing flawlessly. Searching and finding the right part on line, confirming in stock availability and getting an on line discount were added bonuses!

great service
Verified Buyer -
The service we received from the employees in store was great. Very informative and helpful. The hub wheel bearing assembly itself was easy to install especially when comparing to taking off the old one. Overall quality seems to be good, but only miles will tell. Having the 1 year warranty is definitely a plus

Stopped the noise
Verified Buyer -
Had a shop to put them in. Seems to have fixed the problem. Only been 2 weeks. [...] So far so good. There is a warranty of year with the cheap ones. I know you have to pay for labor if they have to be replaced but with low funds it will work.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
