The original lug nuts on certain vehicles have a failure-prone two-piece design that makes warping common and removal difficult. There's often a thin veneer that gets damaged with repeated use, and if moisture gets underneath it can cause the cover to bulge. Those failures can make the nuts difficult or impossible to remove, and if they get stuck, removing them usually requires damaging the wheel itself. This Dorman OE FIX replacement matches the OE fit and function but has a one-piece, carbon steel design to prevent similar issues from happening in the future.

The description could be better.
The description could be better, it isnt really Advance's fault you cannot even find out how many are in the box from Dorman. They say it will fit a Dodge Dakota but 98 Dakotas have 6 lug nuts the box actually contains 10 so I took a chance and ordered 3 boxes so we have a few extra now for the other Dakota we own. The lug nut itself is pretty decent we just installed it so we don't know how well it will hold up to winters yet.

Capped means 2 piece (separates)
I messed up when online ordering, not realizing 'capped' meant 2 pieces and would eventually separate with use. (rotating tires, replacing/inspecting shoes and pads) After the 'caps' come off they are no nonger 3/4 inch hex and you need additional socket to remove. I was able to return for credit before using.Thanks !

WORST PURCHASE EVER!
WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE BUYING-THE DOME CAP IS A SEPARATE PIECE FOR PETE'S SAKE. HAD SHOP PUT 20 ON JEEP, LOST 3 CAPS DRIVING AWAY! I DON'T SEE HOW THE DOME CAP AND NUT ARE SUPPOSED TO STAY TOGETHER TO BEGIN WITH-VERY BAD DESIGN AND A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!
