Dorman - Help Brake And Clutch Stop Pads

1992 Honda Civic DX Sedan (for this car, part corresponds to Honda #46505-SA5-000) This part replaces the little plastic nub that presses a button to enable the starter circuit when the clutch pedal is depressed. Probably it also replaces the similar nub on the brake pedal (which turns the brake lights off when the brake pedal is resting), but I can't speak to that with 100% confidence -- I replaced the corresponding nub on the brake pedal with a bolt padded by a small stack of metal washers. To be clear, the pointy end of the nub is what activates the switch. I emphasize this because you won't be able to see how the old one was positioned -- it shattered onto the carpet. I am not totally sure what the other part (black) replaces... (photo attached)

I used the black stopper thinking that the white plastic would disintegrate like the original stopper did and the black rubber one indented by the pressure over a month or two just enough for the sensor to pop out and drain the battery all over again!!!! I replaced with a metal nut and bolt instead. No more problems.
