Great deal on a great battery
I just had this battery installed a couple of weeks ago, but it fit my 2006 Jetta TDI perfectly. I thought I could have installed this myself pretty fast but the guy at the store offered and had this installed within ten minutes with the added advantage of plugging in a backup-battery into the OBD port to avoid my losing my radio settings and such. It's obviously too soon to tell about longevity or losing a charge but for whatever it's worth, so far it turns the engine as good as any new battery I've ever had, and this car is a diesel which with it's high compression takes a bit more juice to turn. The 3-year warranty is on par with other brands I checked. I went with the AGM-type battery to see how it fares here in Florida since even with a garage-kept car batteries rarely last more than four years. Extreme cold weakens a battery, but heat KILLS them. Comparing the regular price this was the same as the big name AGM batteries at department stores, and even as the dealer-sold OEM (which I believe is not AGM)... but lo and behold, Advance sent me a very generous coupon for paying online (with in-store pickup) and this made the deal absolutely unbeatable. Plus, the battery was already picked out when I arrived and even with them installing it I was outta there in 15 minutes tops. Simply a fantastic experience all-around. Now the battery just needs to make it past 4 years and it'll be gravy.

AutoCraft Platinum, so far, so good.
I just bought this battery and so far is working as it should for a high end Platinum battery. I was going to buy the cheaper model but I got an offer for a 25% discount, and it has a bigger cranking output, so I ended up saving around $50.00 off face price. It had no problem starting my car (a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse) in -10F at 6:00 am on the two coldest days of the year so far last week. Now, I purchased this battery online with the option of picking it up at my local store in Powell, OH, but before purchasing it, I called the store specifically asking if they could install the battery on site, the person who answered the phone said yes, without even asking what kind of vehicle it was. As it happens, my car has the battery installed under the floor behind the passenger front seat INSIDE the car, not the easiest spot to work on, but certainly nothing that requires a professional mechanic. So I paid for the battery, went to pick it up, and sure enough, the same person who answered the phone half an hour earlier, (he remembered me) told me that they couldn't install the battery because there was a note under the description of such item that stated that "professional installation" was required on this item; "you have to take it to a mechanic, sorry about that", he said. He didn't even bother looking at my car.It was a rainy day, nothing heavy, but steady enough to not make anybody work outside and get your back wet, for sure.So the next day I went to open the battery cover myself, and there was an small vent hose to unplug with two fingers and a grand total of THREE bolts to get loose; the ones holding the positive and negative wires, and the battery holder at the bottom. It took a 10mm socket, a 10 inch extension, a ratchet and 15 minutes of my time. This was a far cry from requiring a professional mechanic, and even if the item's description is not the seller's fault, he should have at least bothered stepping outside and looked at my car's battery placement.
