Excellent initial actual measured specification values
This 1 year warranty battery exceeds advertised specifications. I purchased 2 of these batteries on-line to get 15% off. I went to pick up the batteries 2 hours later. The retail sales agent brought out both which had a sticker on them indicating they had been on the shelf for 2 months since March 2016). I immediately tested them with a 66892 Centech Digital Automotive Battery Analyzer. Both batteries passed the off the test indicating higher than advertised CCA values, so I accepted them. I took them home and started charging each of them with a Model 12117 BatteryMINDer Pro charger, maintainer, and conditioner. After 12 hours on the BatteryMINDer Pro, I allowed each battery to rest. Here are my test results: Battery # 1 readings Before charging After 12 Hours charging prior to 1st use & 1Hour resting @ 69 degree F prior to 1st use 12.56 Volts 12.95 Volts

617.9 CCA 631.5 CCA I have been able to get 7 years service from this type of lead acid battery using a BatteryMINDer Pro. All indications are that these Advance Auto Parts AutoCraft batteries should likewise have a long life. The only thing that kept me from giving these batteries 5 stars is their lack of screw terminal wing nuts and their lack of a visual sight glass charge indicator.

Not Too Good for Starting Boat
This was recommended for starting my boat [...] After less than 2 seasons it has died. I kept a trickle charge on it during the winter. Put it in the boat last week for boating season and it would not start. Had it fully charged and still nothing. Took it in and was determined to be a bad cell. Less than two years is all you will get out of this one as a starting battery. I used it for just to crank up my 140 hp I/O boat. Could have been mis-applied (better for a trolling motor), but it was the recommended battery for my application. [...]

I put this battery in my Rv to be used to power all the coach functions It runs lights Tv and a fig and acts as a starter battery for my Gen Its seems to have all the power to complete all the functions needed I plan on getting another one to be useed as stater battery for the main engine

for the same price i could of gotten 1000cca group 24 marine batteries if i had purchaced inside my local store. i bought online to use a cupon code. but the whole time i should of just went to the store and bought the darn thing.and i would of gotten a better battery instead of these little 550cca ones. Oh well you live you learn. i will never monkey around with this advance online junk again. the stores allways have good sales

Not a starting battery and not a deep cycle. A good hybrid for those applications that require high currents but which need some deeper cycling ability. I bought two of these batteries to make a 24V battery bank for a project and they worked well for that purpose. Always make sure you recive fresh batteries no matter where they are purchased. If a battery on the shelf measures less than 12.5V, refuse it. Some sales outlets are not so good about rotating stock and returning old stock to the mfg for sale as seconds, but I was happy to find these batteries were very fresh with a recent manufacture date. (Look at the date heat-stamped into the casing, not at the sticker) The batteries take a charge well, maintain a high residual voltage in storage, and have a capacity similar to their rating. They are not a top quality battery which at the price cannot be expected, but with the online coupon I used they were a good value.

Purchased to use as a storage of power generated from solar cells. The setup runs all my front room lights and a small laptop 24x7. For what it is, it does what I need. Price was right on par with most other dealers but the level of service at Advance keeps me coming back.
