Could be used to mount license plate just about anywhere. The plastic breaks easy if you try to bend it, but works great for mounting to a flat surface.

Low-quality Material But Works Okay
Bought this because one of my rear-plate mounting points broke off. Would have been nice if it came with a set of short metal screws for people like me who need to use them to mount only the plate--without penetrating into the car body. I sawed my screws to length. One of them seemed hardened somehow, maybe work hardened during manufacturing, and was pretty tough to cut through and file. The plastic is pretty weak, seemed weaker than the plastic used for the model kits sold in hobby stores. Just be extra careful not to stress it. I would've paid more for better material, but none was available. This one does the job for now, hope it stands up to Northeast weather.
