Brake pads covered by a lifetime warranty
These are covered by a "limited lifetime warranty". The shop that was doing the brake job said if I bought the exact same parts, that I could return the old pads and get a refund of my purchase price. I was skeptical, but I took the old pads back in the boxes I got with the new pads and the Advance Auto store did refund the cost of the new pads. Amazing! They were somewhat reluctant to do this, but they did honor the warranty. (The old pads & rotors had about 30K-31K miles during a span of 2.5 years.) The original pads performed well; nothing spectacular about them. The ultimate reason for replacing them had more to do with uneven wear of the rotors (also replaced). I did the rear brakes at the same time as the front ones, which had badly warped rotors. I do wonder if these longer life (harder?) pads tend to cause faster wear of the rotors, as compared to the shorter life pads.

Pads appear substantial.
I would have been happy, except that after replacing the right rear pads, with the pressure (caliper piston side) pad being equipped with a worn pad "chirper", I disassembled the left rear brake assembly and found that neither remaining pad had a chirper, although the original equipment pressure pad had one. I never expected that the top of the line "professional" box of pads would not contain a complete correct pad set. I will revisit this page if Advance Auto satisfactorily corrects this mistake. If Wearever/Carquest reads this comment, it would be nice for them to include a plastic or nylon block that would fit inside the caliper abutment clip channel that must be pressed into the channel on the caliper frame, so that adjustable pliers could be used to more easily complete that task.
