Not pleased with poor product packaging.....
After picking up the 5 gal. container at my local Advance store,I put it in my vehicle on the rear passenger floorboard. I noticed a slight smell of brake clean in my vehicle on the drive home, just thought it was an old smell on the container. But when I got home and started to remove the 5 gal container I noticed it had some brake clean on top of the container & some down the side. Probably from sloshing around on the drive home. So I proceeded to remove the container out of my vehicle and open it up. When I pulled up on the spout,it made a wheezing noise like air leaking. I noticed after I pulled up on the dispensing spout that it had pin holes in it right where it tucks in and out and flexes at the pull up portion of the spout. The screw cap and the pull out tamper-seal were still there and intact on the spout but there were pin holes in the flex portion of the spout. I poured out the brake clean into five 1gal old metal paint thinner containers that I had laying around so as to conserve the brake clean. I ended up with 4 full gallons and the fifth container was just under a half a gallon! Only then is when I figured out that's how much product was actually missing. Air was getting in these pin holes and allowed just over a half a gallon of product to evaporate out of the container during it's storage period. When I first purchased the 5 gal drum,I could not tell that it had anything wrong with it,but when I heard air wheezing in and out of those pinholes when I pulled up on the spout,I knew something was wrong then. The container was not tampered with, but the flex/tuck-in spout was surely defective. I didn't realize this till after I opened it that there was a problem,so I figured it would be hard to prove my case in a return after I completely opened it up. This bulk can of brake clean was very expensive to say the least, and missing some of the product has not made me happy with my purchase after this experience.
