Warranty Details (LIMITED LIFETIME REPLACEMENT)
The steering gear box is the heart of the vehicle's steering system. It guides the wheel's movement in conjunction with the direction that the steering wheel is rotated, helping achieve ideal steering response for more efficient driving. CARDONE Remanufactured Steering Gear Boxes are re-engineered, built and tested to match O.E. performance. Each unit features 100 percent new O-rings and lip seals to ensure leak-free, long-lasting performance. Shafts are surfaced to precise specifications to eliminate premature seal wear and extend gear life. All units are 100 percent hydraulically tested to ensure perfect fit and function.

Product Features:
  • 100 percent hydraulic testing measures for proper flow, leakage and performance to ensure perfect fit and function.
  • 100 percent new O-rings and lip seals ensure leak-free, long-lasting performance.

Works like it should, good rebuilt part
This is a good replacement for the factory steering box. The factory box became difficult to turn right only and this resolved the problem easily with minimal effort. All the connections were leak free and it mounted up just as the original box. Took about an hour to replace once I was able to separate the pitman arm from the drag link which was the most difficult part of removing the old steering gear box. I suggest the use of a "pickle fork" style separator to disconnect the pitman arm from the drag link as all other methods failed to work for me. I also decided to spend the extra money to replace the pitman arm as it already had 150K miles on it.

I'm not sure if I would buy this again
Product was an great match to my factory gear box, Installed nicely in to place with no issues all lines and steering shaft attached as designed only issue was after replacing the whole front end due to truck not steering correctly I found that after I installed all this product the truck continued to do the same exact thing. Come to find out the steering box adjustment set screw and lock nut were loose. I had to tighten it down, hoping I didnt over do it with the adjustment screw.

Great Steering Box
I bought this steering box for my 99 silverado and everything went smoothly with the installation and everything was pretty straight forward. The stock gear boxes are a common problem, it was fine when I steered the wheels to the left but it felt like I had no power steering when turning to the right at a stop or low speeds. I would also recommend replacing the pitman and idler arms while you're at it, and also give the power steering hoses a good check.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
power steering gear
Verified Buyer -
purchased for a 2004 chevy avalanche. Fixed my problem of not having power steering when turning to the right. especially at low speeds. Easy installation, only issue I ran into was the pitman arm does not sit all the ways against the base of the steering shaft, like the original OEM installation. Actually leaves about 3/8 of an inch gap between the pitman arm and the bottom of the steering shaft.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
