Warranty Details (LIMITED LIFETIME REPLACEMENT)
The steering gear box is the heart of the vehicle's steering system. It guides the wheel's movement in conjunction with the direction that the steering wheel is rotated, helping achieve ideal steering response for more efficient driving. CARDONE Remanufactured Steering Gear Boxes are re-engineered, built and tested to match O.E. performance. Each unit features 100 percent new O-rings and lip seals to ensure leak-free, long-lasting performance. Shafts are surfaced to precise specifications to eliminate premature seal wear and extend gear life. All units are 100 percent hydraulically tested to ensure perfect fit and function.

Product Features:
  • 100 percent hydraulic testing measures for proper flow, leakage and performance to ensure perfect fit and function.
  • 100 percent new O-rings and lip seals ensure leak-free, long-lasting performance.
  • All critical components are tested to ensure product reliability.
  • Shafts are surfaced to precise specifications to eliminate premature seal wear and extend gear life.
  • Rust inhibitive "Cool Dip" finish is a penetrating dye that completely covers all exposed surfaces for a consistent, protective finish that will not crack, flake or peel.
  • As a remanufactured Original Equipment part, this unit guarantees a perfect vehicle fit.
  • Our remanufacturing process is earth-friendly, as it reduces the energy and raw material needed to make a new part by 80 percent.

Perfect fit, steering is now nice and tight, like "new"
Be sure to line up the Pittman shaft to dead center, mine came with the shaft almost 20 degrees to the right, add on the in-line filter as it will save you headaches down the road. Be sure to bleed the system and turn the steering wheel a bunch of times as you back up and pull forward, GM has the "brake assist" running off the power steering,,, if you test drive w/o fully bleeding the system, you may loose brakes and steering while on the road until it cycles the air bubbles out (-very dangerous). Take a few minutes to look at all the "How to Remove/Replace" videos on YouTube as it will save a lot of time and they have some great advice.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
Extremely disapointed
Installed it and it worked two minutes on test drive. Leaked so bad internally I even lost brakes since they are hydroboost trucks. Another garbage reman part. Was the only thing available on short notice. I'll wait and order a new one or at least a better brand reman. Don't waste your time and money!

Seems OK so far

Just recently installed, less than 100 miles on it so far. No immediate leaks or issues. Had to use a dremel to smooth the bevel that had been created on the head of the input steering shaft. Looked as though it had been beaten with a hammer therefore the steering column sleeve would never slide over it. Once smoothed out, all went together as it should. It does come with new o-ring seals for the Power steering lines. Used on a 2005 GMC Sierra, 3500HD diesel. Once completed, jacked front of truck and followed bleed procedure which went quickly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
total junk
play in steering after 1 month 2nd one installed don't buy
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
hopeing im not in the same boat
hopeing that the first one that i installed was just a bad one after five days it started leaking. the sector shaft is also clicked the same reason i removed the original box at 130000 miles. oh and did i mention that after 10 days now there is a large amount of play in the steering. will be installing another today. if results are same i will be contacting corporate and tracking down the manufacturer because this should never happen and it is rediculous that it is even an issue. My truck also has hydro-boost so if I lose enough power steering fluid that means that i will lose power brakes too. It is extremely difficult to stop a 7000lb truck with manual brakes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
