Had a sticky garage door opener lead screw and carriage in Minnesota. Tried grease last summer, great when warm but when cold it was much to thick and tripped garage door opener force limits all the time. Cleaned up track where carriage rides and lead screw that drives carriage by using WD40 and a rag, put extra coat of WD40 on to lube track afterward. Good for a few days and then problem was back... Cleaned again with brake cleaner, tried WD40 again and still to much friction. Purchased PB-50 lubricant, sprayed on same parts, ran door up/down a few times, door was quiter and it has been 3 weeks in Minnesota cold with no problems, great lubricant!!
