Brought back jack
I purchased this yesterday to revive an inexpensive Pro-Lift jack #2392. The jack did not leak, but it would only lift a few inches. The jack manual said one could remove the cover plate and access the fill plug. I added some of this oil (not much), pumped to remove any trapped air, and replaced the rubber plug. I tried the jack and it didn't seem to make much difference. I only could raise the saddle to 9-10 and the jack wouldn't raise my car enough to change a tire. I came back a few hours later and tried it again. The saddle went to 14! I tried to raise my minivan and it worked! Plenty of height to change the tire.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Fixed a weak jack
This stuff is great; I needed to use my uncle's old floor jack to do my first self-done oil change but his jack was barely raising with every pump, wasn't raising very high at its highest and could hardly lift my Crown Victoria at all. I did some research and found out that the floor jack was likely low on jack-specific oil so I went looking for jack oil on the Advance Auto website and found this stuff for a bargain [$].I popped the fill plug out, poured in enough that it was it just under the fill hole(I used a little too much at first, I should've used about 3/8 of the bottle but used half), put it back together, raised and lowered the jack with no load a few times to get the air out, and then it worked great, the jack was again able to be fully raised and it felt very steady and powerful holding up my 4,000 lb full-size sedan to get the jackstands under the frame.

A lot of Talk, but no walk!

First, I admit my floor jack is an older 3 ton and does have weak or bad seals. But this product did not stop the leak on the pump actuator. Did not stop the leak while it was not in use in a resting status. I would not buy or recommend this product.

This stuff really worked

The ram on my engine hoist would not pump up or if it did it would not hold. I drained all fluid and refilled with this jack oil with stop leak.... I've lifted a 4 cylinder and a Buick 350 without any issues pumping or holding up!
Great Product, Saved My Floor Jack
It's hydraulic oil in a container that makes it easy to refill any bottle jack, be it a stand alone bottle jack, a floor jack or a motorcycle/ATV lift. It gets the job done. Beyond that, the product backs up the brand name and solution that is Bar's Leaks. I bought a relatively-cheap, low profile floor jack that began leaking after a year of seldom use. One refill of this product (about 2oz of fluid), a whole bunch of air bleeding cycles later, and this floor jack is as good as new! I'd recommend this to anyone who needs to refill a bottle jack. Why NOT buy the product that repairs a weeping, leaking cylinder?
