The common element between all of the engine components is the oil. Oil is the lifeblood of the engine and is pumped under pressure to all the moving parts. The 2 main parts needing oil for lubrication are the bearings and pistons. As the engine ages and gains more miles, the oil alone can't do the job. Internally, parts don't fit as tightly as they originally did which causes noise and loss of power. Bearings wear down, seals leak, lifters tick, blow-by passes around tired rings and power is lost. When installed, Engine Repair helps to stop and prevent these problems and will also extend the useful life of your engine. Engine oils are generally used to reduce friction between moving parts. In addition to lubricating, motor oil must cool, provide corrosion protection and a method of removing contaminants. As lubricants degrade, their properties change, leading to increased friction and wear. Over time the natural wear that occurs inside the engine causes reduced oil pressure, loss of compression (power loss), lower fuel mileage, oil consumption (leaks and smoking) and noise (knocking and ticking). Bar's Leaks Engine Repair contains a combination of performance additives to repair these common oil-related problems. Engine Repair restores lost compression and power, and reduces noise and oil consumption, while improving the performance of worn cylinders, rings, bearings, and seals. For most vehicles, this is your last chance before paying an expensive repair bill or replacing the vehicle. Engine Repair can be used to top off the existing oil when low, or can be added by the bottle when changing the oil and filter. Restores Lost Power, Quiets Noise, Reduces Oil Consumption, Compatible with most types of engine oils, including petroleum, synthetic and high-mileage formulas

Car Still Smoke

Helped with smoking engine.

Product worked as described. Added to oil due to engine burning oil at start-up and cold weather. Oil consumption has dropped dramatically and smoking has diminished to almost nothing. This product does take about 100 miles or more of driving to start working. Will add to next oil change as well to keep the benefit going. The fluids come separately in a split bottle with a regular oil bottle shape. The dark side liquid is very thick and takes a while to run in. I used regular 5w-20 synthetic oil and have not experienced any of the super thick oil problems that other users complained about. My truck is a 2002 Supercrew F-150 2WD with over 175,000 miles now and seems to have a little more power. Gas mileage is unchanged.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Causes more headaches than help
I bought this product because my car (a 1990 Dodge Daytona) had a tiny oil leak that I did not feel warranted a trip to the mechanic. I thought "What can it hurt? I will give this a try and see if it works" ....bad idea. I wish I had just gone to the mechanic from the start! I put this product in at my oil change, following the instructions on the bottle. Two days later, my engine was knocking -- it had never knocked before. I called my mechanic, who told me to immediately drain the oil and to run 5W-20 fully synthetic oil through to clean the product out of my engine. The product had thickened the oil up so much that it was not flowing properly through the motor. Draining the oil to change it took almost 20 minutes; it was that thick! It took two weeks of running the 5W-20 through before the knocking stopped. I mainly noticed it at startup and for several miles of driving until the fluids got to flowing properly, then the noise would go away. After it sat for a few hours the knocking would start again on startup. Since I put this product in at my regular oil change ($28) and then had to change the oil and filter to a higher quality recommended by my mechanic two days later ($45), I am out quite a bit of money in addition to the cost of the product. Luckily, it doesn't appear that any permanent damage was done to my engine. I contacted the company and was told there is NO WAY their product caused the issue (my mechanic told me he has seen this several times before; he went as far as calling it "the kiss of death" for an engine). I was told by the company that thousands of other people have used the product and have not had an issue. I can't speak for a newer car, but I can say it did not work out well for my older engine. I do have to grant that they wanted me to send a sample of the oil so they could have it analyzed, but unfortunately I was told that after the oil change and no longer had a sample. I asked if I could get any kind of reimbursement for the money I was out or if there is any kind of warranty; there is no warranty. The most they would do is refund my purchase price on the product if it "didn't fix the leak." ...It didn't fix the leak and it gave me more of a headache (and wallet-ache) than it was worth. I will not buy this product again.
