Performance Replacement HEI Distributor, direct plug-in with OE type connectors, GM HEI equipped Cars, Trucks (Pre-Computer). High dielectric strength cap, brass male towers. ACCEL Performance Replacement Distributors are the perfect choice for your daily driver or street machine. Using all new components, these distributors feature High-performance ACCEL Electronics. All new components-housings are either new castings or turned from billet stock, centerless ground shaft with oil lite bushings. High dielectric strength cap, balanced rotor. Male tower distributor cap with brass cap and rotor contacts (Ford and AMC Models feature screw-mounted wire retainer for the ultimate plug wire retention). Iron or steel distributor gear. Direct plug-in replacement with factory-type connectors for plug and play installation.

This is not an exact fit to your wiring connections
This is not an exact fit for a 1989 5.7 Liter Chevy engine as the website says. This has no wiring connections to connect to the ecm or old coil wires. If you hook the power wire from the old coil to this unit you will get spark. However the fuel injectors now do not work. There is nothing to trigger the fuel system from the ignition system as the system is designed. So you need to hook the tachometer lead from this unit to one of the 4 original wires that connected to the oem ecm. In this case you connect the tach lead to the "Dist Ref Hi" wire (purple) in the original system and the vehicle runs. Whether this works long term who knows. May return.
