Should have heeded Hillbilly's warning..
I bought this to replace an OEM HEI cap and rotor on a '83 Chevy C10 p/u. I have done hundreds of these over the years. When I read Hillbilly's comments about having to shave off part of the electrical connector to get it to work, I figured he must have had some kind of aftermarket connector that wasn't shaped right. Lo and behold, I ran into a similar situation in trying to plug in mine, and these were definitely stock.I was able to get things connected by removing the coil cover and maneuvering the contacts while positioning the connectors, but it wasn't easy. That said, I felt pretty good that they would not come loose given how tightly they fit.The other issue I had was that the spring loaded hold-down screws did not secure the cap as tightly as should have been. I wound up seating the "L" arm of each screw onto a higher portion of the boss on the distributor in order to have it hold snugly. All in all, I would not have bought this item if I had it to do over. I would have returned it if I had not been able to get it to work.
